Charles Mukandatsama, aka Charis, is one of the most outstanding upcoming Gospel musicians in Zimbabwe. A leading upcoming vocalist in the Afro-Centric genre, he is also a talented composer and musician. In fact, Charis has his own unique style of music which grabs everyone's ear.
Charis started singing in Church at a very early age and later started singing with Gospel groups. He also sings with some prominent Zimbabwean Gospel musicians like Shingisai Suluma as a backing vocalist. In 2006 he signed up with 24 Elders Records, a Gospel Record Label and started working on his first solo album Mufaro Wangu, which features some of the best Zimbabwean musicians like Mono Mukundu (Elect. guitars), Enoch Piroro (Bass Guitar), Samson Mutukudzi (Acoustic Guitar), Jairos Hambahamba (Keys/Producer) and Tinashe Ndhlala (Keys/Producer). Charis has already started working on his second album.
Charis is a born again Christian who sings for the glory of God. He has a soft spot for the less fortunate and orphans and aspires to open a center that hosts outreach programs to help orphans around the world and he is very passionate about the needy and under-privileged.
